Major tenant renews
Smales Farm lease

18 January 2011. Lion Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to running its operations from Smales Farm, signing up for a fresh three-year term.
Headquartered in the Air New Zealand building, the Lion Foundation has returned more than half a billion dollars to communities across New Zealand since it began operating in 1989. CEO Phil Holden says the Foundation is pleased to be extending its time at Smales Farm.
“The central location and the growing infrastructure within Smales Farm means it was an easy decision to extend our lease,” he says.
“Since we arrived from the city in 2002 Smales Farm has provided a great home for the organisation and the dedicated people that work hard across New Zealand to manage the effective operation and distribution of community funds.”
North Shore organisations the Lion Foundation has helped to support include the Wilson Home Trust and Wilson School on Lake Road; Netball North Harbour; Westlake Girls High School; Takapuna Rugby Club; Lake Pupuke Tennis Club; and North Shore Hospice.
“It’s very important that we are accessible, easy to find and meet with, and close to the principal transportation routes,” Phil Holden says.
“Smales Farm hits the mark on all of these fronts.”
