Smales Farm – a transport
hub since 1898

From early stage coach to modern diesel buses, the history of Smales Corner is a fascinating insight into the history of transport on the North Shore.

The opening of the Smales Farm Station on the Northern Busway in February 2008 is only the most recent chapter in the use of the site as a transport hub. Back in 1898 a Mr. W. Paterson operated a horse-drawn coach service, with his stables occupying part of the present day Smales Farm Technology Office Park site.
